— About This Service
TW Stonemasons brings 15 years' building experience to domestic extensions, structural repairs and refurbishment projects across Central Scotland, Edinburgh and Perth. Projects are managed to meet building control and structural requirements while keeping disruption to a minimum. Expect punctual site teams, clear programmes and workmanship that respects traditional stonework and modern build methods. We focus on value, reliability and high-standard finishes.

— Our Process
A measured on-site survey identifies structural issues, existing materials and access constraints. You get a clear, written scope and realistic programme before any work starts.
We coordinate drawings, building control and, when required, structural engineer details, arrange temporary works and protect the property before construction begins.
Work is completed to the agreed programme with staged inspections and a final handover. We tidy the site, address snagging and offer advice on maintenance to protect your investment.
— Benefits
Small, dependable teams with a clear programme minimise disruption and work to agreed timescales so you know when each stage will finish.
Fifteen years’ experience means structural repairs and extensions respect traditional stone finishes and modern blockwork, from lintels to repointing.
Clear written quotations and straightforward communication keep costs understandable while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Domestic extensions and alterations — rear and side extensions, kitchen and living space enlargements, and internal load-bearing wall removals. We handle foundations, blockwork, lintels, damp-proof courses and tie-ins to existing masonry so the new build integrates with the original structure. Projects in Edinburgh tenements and Perth stone houses are carried out with an eye to matching local materials and profiles.
Structural repairs and refurbishment — crack stitching, underpinning liaison, chimney repairs, re-pointing and lintel replacement. All structural work is completed to building control standards and we work with engineers where required. For refurbishments we manage first-fix and second-fix trades, plastering and finishing so you get a clean handover and practical advice on maintenance of stone and brickwork.
— FAQ
We prepare work packages for building control and coordinate with your architect or structural engineer. For planning applications we can support the process but recommend clients retain their planning agent where complex consents are required.
